Online Training

August 17, 2009 is a “red letter day” for the Save the Mother, Save her Child team!  We have launched the online training for SMSC. Now anyone working in a pregnancy center where English is spoken, can receive free training in how to share the gospel in the unique pregnancy center environment. 

We praise God for this great answer to the prayers of so many people.  We praise Him for His provision and guidance for this incredible program of free evangelism resources and training for every center. He has given us a way to train church members, staff, volunteers, donors, Board members  who are connected in any way with our pregnancy centers, so that everyone He sends to us can hear the gospel clearly and simply.

SMSC training is in two modules. The first module is the ACT online training in personal evangelism. ACT is for anyone who wants to share the gospel in a clear, simple way. The second module, SMSC Training, teaches pregnancy center staff and volunteers how to apply their ACT training to sharing the gospel with the people God directs to their pregnancy center.  

ACT is composed of four sessions, each approximately 20 minutes long. ACT training is professional, interactive online training with activities, video, and downloadable workbooks. ACT training can be viewed as many times as a person wants if a quick refresher is needed. If your center has taken You Can Tell It training, new students can take ACT online, or you can continue to use You Can Tell It, which is another outstanding personal evangelism tool available for onsite training.

The SMSC module is built on the experiences that the client and her family or boyfriend have in the pregnancy center. Special client materials have been created to assure the client of God’s love, reinforce the gospel message, and provide an early discipleship tool for new believers. Using the same learning techniques that ACT uses, the learner uses activities, video, and a downloadable workbook to speed their comprehension. 

Session 1 of the SMSC training teaches you to
a. listen for your client’s perspective
b. link to a spiritual conversation
c. lead into the gospel.

Session 2 is very special role play that demonstrates how the training in Session 1 is used with clients at intake, after testing, with the nurse, and in follow-up appointments and classes. You can participate in SMSC training as many times as you like. There’s nothing like SMSC training anyplace else – and it’s all free for you!

Both modules of SMSC training are also available in person, onsite at your center for a small fee per person. SMSC Certified Instructors complete an in-depth doctrinal and background application, must have pregnancy center experience, and provide three references. They receive in-person training from an experienced SMSC Master Instructor at one of our regional training locations.
